In 1957 he met his wife Maureen Griffin who encouraged him to start a business as a builder. Maureen was from a family of builders and she knew they could be successful if they ever had a family to support. Together they bought and sold spec houses. John became a well known builder in Boston and Medway.

Expansion 1965

The economy was on a downward trend. Maureen, wanting to make her contribution, attained her real estate license. With this new ability in the family, John and Maureen began buying, renovating and selling homes. In February of this year, their third child, John G. Early, was born.
